There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats.
Albert Schweitzer
I’m not a morning person that it irritates me whenever someone or something interrupts my sleeping time. However, there’s this guy whom I really adore because of his nature of sleeping beside me. I can never give him a specific name because I believe one word isn’t just enough to describe him. He’s an angel, in his cat form. Yes, it’s a cat. Not a human, and definitely not a literal boy because I can never digest the thought of sleeping with a real man (except for my dad) but that’s not the point. I can’t remember the specific time and day when I met him for the first time but let me tell you things about him.

He is a fella with a mixture of orange and yellow color on his fur, with thin nylon-like whiskers attached on the sides his mouth, and brown sharp eyes. His features never really fails to make me stare at him with awe because he is the one of the most perfect creature that God has ever created or should I say, one of the cats that I have adored with all my strength. Refer to the picture above for reference.
He would scratch his nails over my blankets and by that, I can recognize that he’s already there because he comes by my room every morning. I would witness how his eyes changes from having big circles to the small ones because of the presence of the sun. I guess it applies for every living cat in the world because it’s already in their nature. Both of us had this routine for years that it’s surprising if he wouldn’t come but that’s impossible. I thought that it was impossible for him to not visit. I thought wrong.

One day, he didn’t come as I expected. He also did not visit the following days. He was gone.
He was gone for good. I was a bit sad because I never had any idea where he would go. He must’ve been beaten up by bad people out there. However, this experience never stopped me from adopting other cats. It was just a realization that, cats would never depend their life on humans. They are primitive creatures that will hunt for food on the streets and we must not discriminate them for that.

Now, if you’d ask me why I care about cats. Here are the reasons why:
- They’re the sweetest creatures.
- They give the best comfort.
- They’re simply lazy that they wouldn’t cheat on you (unlike your lover).
- They fit every positive adjective existing in this world.
